Stephanie Thompson, Founder and Principal

Stephanie Thompson has 20 years of experience as a public relations consultant and practitioner. She has worked with a wide variety of clients, from multinational corporations to small non-profit agencies, and from performing arts, festivals, and touring entertainment to medical clinics, retail, and the service industry.

Stephanie launched her own company after eight years heading San Diego Opera’s media relations department, where she led a number of successful and award-winning communications initiatives. Before that, she was a newspaper writer and editor. She has also taught Journalism, English, and Humanities at the high school and college levels. 

She has consulted with corporations and non-profit organizations in the areas of media strategies, social media planning and implementation, special event planning, crisis communications, executive media training, and more. She often collaborates with marketing and branding professionals on comprehensive marketing and communications strategies. 

Stephanie’s international background adds a multicultural sensibility to her work. She is active in the Public Relations Society of America’s San Diego chapter and the San Diego Press Club, and volunteers her services to the San Diego Council on Literacy, the annual West Marine Challenged America Regatta, and Greyhounds 2 Go Greyhound Adoptions.

She also writes book reviews and presents seminars on writing and “Getting Started in Social Media.” She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Mills College and her master’s degree in English from San Diego State University.
